1964 Convertible Engine: 327, 50,700 Miles, Color: Riverside Red with Red interior.
Rare 1964 Corvette Convertible -- L76 365HP 327 with K66 Transistorized Ignition and J65 Sintered Metallic Brakes. Very few 1964 Corvettes had this combination of options. Riverside red with red interior and 4spd transmission. I have owned this Corvette for over 10 years and am the 3rd owner. I am still in contact with original owner. 50,700 original miles. This car has spent most of its life in Colorado and I have lots of documentation from its original sale through today. Paint, Interior, Stainless trim, Chrome and Bumpers are all in extremely nice condition. Frame and Birdcage are both solid. Runs great, could drive it all day long with no heating issues. Lots of power. Car has been through NCRS judging and I have all the judging sheets. Most components are original (heads, manifolds, water pump, alternator, transmission w/ stamped vin, etc). The Engine block in the car is non matching, but sale includes a date correct 870 block. Pictures can be seen at: http://photobucket.com/my64corvette Great deal at $49,900. 1964 Convertible Engine: 327, 61,894 Miles, Color: 932AA - Saddle Tan with D6 - Saddle interior.
This car was purchased by my Father in 1981 from a little old lady. While this is true, it isn't what you think. The story he told was that he made a house call on a dog (he was a Veterinarian) for a home-bound lady and he saw the outline of the car in the back of the garage with bed sheets over it. When he asked about the car she said it was her son's car and he was killed in 1969 in Vietnam. It had sat there ever since. Cool story if she was telling the truth. He was able to buy it from her and had a mechanic go through it and then drove it anywhere from 100 - 1,000 miles a year until he passed away (parades and such). I inherited the car in 2009 and have driven it 200 or so miles a year to keep the seals from drying out. It has been garaged and covered since 1969 (if you count the bed sheets as a cover. Mileage is 61,894 right now. It is a numbers matching car and original as far as I can tell. The paint has hairline cracks in a few places. The engine compartment is missing the shields and the original owner must have moved the coolant overflow tank up close to the radiator. He also put a Hurst shifter in the car which was common back in the 60's. VIN: 40867S106466 ENGINE CODE: F1129RE and 4106466 Other info: Engine - RE code signified 327 c.i. with 340 hp SHP (Special High Performance) Interior - D6 Saddle Tan Interior Style - 64867 Trim - 490CB Body - 3792 Paint - 932AA Saddle Tan Transmission - M20 Close Ratio Rearend - 3.08 with Positraction Speedometer - 160 mph Tachometer - 6500 redline Windows - R21 Power Windows and A02 Tinted Windshield Top - C05 Folding Cloth Top. Replaced in 1982 and still looks new Radio - AM/FM Cassette my Dad put in but I am looking for the original he took out Carpet - Replaced looks brand new Brakes - Very Strong and Straight. Dad had alot of work done on them in 2007 Chrome - Excellent and very little wear I wanted to restore it because of the history and sentimental value but don't think I will ever get around to doing it right. Would consider partial trade on a 1968 Camaro SS or touring resto-mod if it is clean.
