It is one of 9. In 1981 GM pulled 9 vette's off the line and sent them to Perfection Auto in Port Moody, British Columbia. There were several guys working there that worked on the convertable line at GM, that was shut down in 1975. (last year for convertables, till 1984). The owner of the company in Port Moody was Phill Hardy who passed away 5 years ago. This car and 8 others were converted into convertables and were given to the top 9 VP's in the company. Only 3 came back to the US. 3 stayed in British Columbia, and 3 went to Europe. The car is titled as a convertable. I have owned the car for 15 years. It has 72K original miles. 350, 4 speed stick, AC works. Power windows & locks, leather seats that were installed by corvette world in Dallas in 1993. Always garaged, car is in execelent shape. Everything is factory, but the radio. (sounds good). I hate to part with the car, but it's time to send some kids to college. Tires in good shape engine is clean. The top is the same as the 1975's. Plastic is cracked in 2 places but does not hurt functionality and is not noticable. Top is in great shape as well. (See all pics) The car get's alot of attention when it's out on the road, you just don't see this body style in convertable much at all. And if you do it's a custom job, and the title will not reflect that it is a convertable and was a convertable and titled as a convertable in 1981.
