1968 Coupe Engine: , 0 Miles, Color: Prowler Candy Red Pearl with Black interior.
SEE MORE PHOTOS OF THIS VETTE AND 100+ OTHERS FOR SALE AT WWW.BUYAVETTE.NET! Prowler Candy Red Pearl exterior, Black vinyl interior. NOM 720+hp GM Performance Parts ZZ572 crate engine, Richmond 5 speed manual transmission. Features include side exhaust. WOW -- here's a Corvette with a difference! With its added 1970s-era Sportswagon kit and crate engine, this car has it all: show, go, AND cargo space! Likely inspired by the 1962 Ferrari 250 GT "Breadvan" (valued at $3-5 million when it last "no-sold" at an auction in 2005), this added station wagon style rear body paneling adds TONS of usable storage while adding very little weight to the car, and does not affect its handling or other performance, according to a 1974 Popular Hot Rodding article. Now, add in one of GM's most prestigious and most expensive crate engines like the ZZ572, and you've really got something that will not only be seen, but also heard from blocks away! Originally assembled on September 27, 1967, the show-quality paint on this 1968 Corvette ZZ572 Sportswagon is new and is in excellent condition, with a gorgeous, mile-deep shine. Fender flares have been added to the front and rear of this car to accommodate the wider tires, and the headlights have been filled in and relocated to the lower grille area. Gas filler has been relocated to the driver's fender, and sports a chrome cap. T-top bar has been removed, and the t-tops have been fused into a single panel, effectively marking this car a targa. An L88 style 6 inch cowl hood has been added to clear the massive intake and carburetor setup on the ZZ572, and factory 1969 style side exhaust has been added to let everyone know you're coming. The front bumper looks to be older or original, and is in good condition with no dings or rust, and the rear bumpers show what look to be a recent chrome finish, and are in very good condition. Added bubble style taillights are new and in excellent condition, as are the weatherstripping and exterior door handles. New chrome Keystone 15 inch wheels are in excellent condition. New BF Goodrich Radial T/A raised white letter tires are sized 295/50/15 in the rear, and 245/60/15 in the front, and show full tread depth remaining at an average of 10/32nds. The interior of this 1968 Corvette ZZ572 Sportswagon shows 1970-75 style seats, with new correct vinyl covers and foam in excellent condition. Smaller diameter 1969-75 steering wheel is in good condition, and the car currently sports a radio delete panel (you wouldn't be able to hear it over the 572 anyway). New loop carpet is in excellent condition, as are the door panels and center console. Gauges are in good to very good condition, and the dash pad is in very good condition with no cracks. A later style voltmeter has replaced the antiquated ammeter gauge that would have originally came with the car. New seatbelts are in excellent condition, and a long stick Hurst shifter has been added. Say what you want about the exterior modifications, but the real heart of this car is under the hood...in this 720R form, the ZZ572 crate engine boasts 720hp, and a neck-snapping 685 lb ft of torque. Carrying a retail price of just over $17,000, this is GM's biggest and baddest old school big block engine. This engine features a massive Holley Dominator 1150 cfm carburetor, MSD distributor, large brushed aluminum air cleaner, red Taylor 409 Spiro Pro Race spark plug wires, red/stainless steel flex fan, billet pulleys, braided fuel lines, GM log style exhaust manifolds, aluminum radiator, and a chrome water outlet, breather, alternator, and radiator cap. This engine was rebuilt in January 2013, which consisted of a Crane 278/282 camshaft (part #138851), Clevite main bearings and rod bearings, Crane double valve springs with steel retainers and locks, OE ZZ572 oil pump, valves, timing chain, and gears, Manley rod bolts, and Program Engineering billet main bearing caps. Stock ZZ572 intake has been powdercoated in Silver, and the stock ZZ572 valve covers have been powdercoated in Black. A Ram Powergrip HD clutch is currently installed, and feeds a Richmond 5 speed manual transmission. Included documents consist of parts invoices for the recent engine rebuild, Hot Rod Magazine Horsepower Handbook for Big Block Chevy, July 1972 issue of Car and Driver featuring an article on Sportwagon kits, December 1974 issue of Popular Hot Rodding featuring an article on Sportwagon kits, ZZ572 original parts and specifications manual, and photocopies of Sportswagon kits and parts from a 1980 Eckler's catalog. This car features a solid, rust-free frame, has been fully serviced, and all instrument gauges, lights, turn signals, brakes, engine, transmission and rear-end are all in good operating condition. This monster of a car will draw a crowd wherever it goes, or just bolt up a pair of slicks and get ready to tear up the dragstrip -- either way, this is one unique Vette that we won't be able to replace, call us now! Our Price: $35,499. Financing Available with long terms and low rates.

Welcome to THE VETTE NET!  We are a Nationwide and International Corvette Brokerage Network, in business since 1998, proud Lifetime Business Member #991 of the National Corvette Museum.

The 1969 model year has a special place in the Corvette world as the most desirable "Bumper car" of them all.  After the hastily introduced 1968 as the third generation of Corvettes later dubbed the C3, the 1969 came from behind with a lot of refinements and upgrades which made it an instant hit with enthusiasts then and now.

This particular model is a very original un-molested survivor with a two-owner documented ownership and 84K original miles.

Options include the matching numbers 350/300 engine coupled with the automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, headrests, tilt and tele steering wheel, power windows, windshield washers.   It features upgraded engine covers, braided steel hoses.  Original intake manifold is available.

Very clean undercarriage, no issues with bushings, joints, positraction works properly, AC upgraded blows cold, vacuum operated headlight and wiper cover works great,  has new power steering pump...  In fact, car is used regularly on long drives and performs as it should.

All in all, this is a great choice for someone looking to add a desirable 1969 to its collection, a car priced ritht with potential for appreciation.

Located in FLORIDA, we can arrange delivery nationwide and all over the world.   Corvette trades are considered, also, financing is available.
