2001 Millennium L.A. Performance Corvette
This is not your grandfather’s Corvette! This car is about halfway between a normal 2001 Corvette and a proper racing machine. It has way more power than you are probably used to, and it literally sounds like it is launching when you step on the accelerator. Its bright yellow paint is a head-turner at any speed and the sound system is awesome. No one on the block has one of these!
This Corvette was delivered to the “LA Performance Division” in 2001 where its performance was enhanced with several important features. The engine is a 5.7 liter OHV 16-valve V8 coupled with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The functional engine upgrades include a Halltech intake system, special spark plug wires and ceramic-coated long-tube headers leading to an X-pipe and exhaust system with special tips. The fuel-rail covers have been painted yellow and accented with airbrushed red flames and a burning “LAPD” logo. The engine is fitted with a ProCharger LS1 supercharger and intercooler kit which is said to increase the horsepower by up to 55%. Although the engine has not been run on a dyno, the horsepower is said to be somewhere between 420 and 800 HP, and when you are driving this car, it seems more like 800!
Other features of the car are special Brembo disc brakes and new Continental “extreme contact” 295-35ZR19 radial extra-load tubeless tires on the rear and 265-35ZR18 on the front mounted on HRE performance wheels. A five-point Brey-Krause harness bar has been added to strengthen the body and to keep it from flexing. A Millennium yellow dash kit, an NR automotive white-face gauge kit and additional gauges have also been added while a “heads-up” windshield display for MPH, the tach and other gauges is standard. It also has a new battery and new gas struts for the rear hatch. A Pioneer radio with a new Rockford Fosgate sound system has been installed that cost about $ 4,000. “L.A. Performance Division” appears across the top of the windshield.
The car has 21,900 miles on it and a new Pennsylvania state inspection sticker with an expiry date of 4/22.
Also included is a Daytona 3-ton capacity low-profile floor jack, a GM tire inflator kit and four 6-ounce bottles of premium oil for the supercharger.
The asking price is $ 36,500.
