FOR SALE IS A 62 CORVETTE 340 HP 4 SP. RED / RED LEATHER W/ BLACK SOFT TOP.
BLOCK CASTING NUMBER 3782870 / INTAKE 3795397
OLDER PAINT WITH SOME MINOR IMPERFECTIONS. THIS CAR LOOKS AMAZING BUT THERE ARE SOME AGE RELATED DEFECTS. HOOD CORNER AT PASSENGER LATCH HAS THE USUAL “SPIDER” RING, THERE IS A SMALL SPOT ON THE PASS DOOR CLOSE FORWARD JAM AND A SMALL FATIGUE LINE ON THE REAR VALANCE. I AM SUPER CRITICAL AS TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENTS AND HAVE TRIED TO REPRESENT THE CAR WELL IN THE PHOTOS. THIS CAR ISN’T BLOOMINGTON BUT SHE GETS PLENTY OF ATTENTION AND REPRESENTS WELL. SOFT TOP WAS STOWED WHEN I GOT HER AND ITS UP TO SUPPORT THE COVER ONLY, WHICH IS INCLUDED. THE COVER IS A COVER KING PADDED UNIT. THE SOFT TOP HAS SOME WRINKLES AND HONESTLY, I MAY SUSPECT WITH THE TOP UP FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME AND IN A WARM ENVIRONMENT THEY MAY BECOME LESSENED. REAR WINDOW IN SOFT TOP IS NICE AND CLEAR. TRUNK HAS BEEN DETAILED AND IS SUPER NICE A SHOWN. DECK LID CLOSES TIGHT AND CRIP. I’VE BEEN UNDER IT FOR OIL CHANGE AND HAVE SEEN NO EVIDENCE IN ANY WHEEL WELLS OF DAMAGE AND ALL POINTS OF INTERET THAT I INSPECTED ON THE FRAME FREE OF PRIOR DAMAGE OR ROT.THE OIL CHANGE WOULD CONSTITUTE THE “WORK” I HAVE DONE TO THIS CAR. ITS SEVERED WELL AS AN OCCASSIONAL DRIVER ON THE NICE DAYS AND A MILK RUN HERE AND THERE BUT GARAGE SPACE HAS BECOME AN ISSUE WITH A NEW ARRIVAL HEADED MY WAY.
CAR RUNS GREAT, NO LACK OF DESIRE TO GO HARD AND SHE GOES DOWN THE ROAD STRAIGHT WITH NO RATTLES OR CLUNKS, SHIFTS PERFECT AND SOUND EQUALLY NICE. STOPS EQUALLY WELL. NO HEATING ISSUES. 16 INCH RADIALS AS ANYONE WHO HAS DRIVEN THE EARLY CARS ARE NOT WHAT THE STEERING TECHNOLOGY OF THE DAY APPRECIATES. ITS NOT A BAD DRIVE BUT CAN TAKE SOME EFFORT IN TIGHT SPACES. ALL GUAGES FUNCTION AS DO HEAT CONTROLS. THE SPEEDOMETER IS THE SOLE ISSUE AND I MIGHT GUESS THE PLASTIC DRIVE GEAR AT THE TRANS MAY BE THE CULPRIT.
NUMBERS MATCHING – ORIG CARB AND BREATHER GO WITH CAR AS DOES ORIGINAL SPARE COVER AND TRUNK SIDE PANELS. BOTH BEING AS REMOVED FROM CAR – ORIG CONDITION AND LIKELY IN THE CASE OF THE SIDE PANELS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE UNLESS THEY ARE ALL YOU HAVE. ALSO INCLUDED IS THE ORIGINAL STEERING WHEEL. ALL BUMPERS AND TRIM ORIGINAL, SEE PHOTOS FOR BUMPERETTE SPOT WHICH REPRESENTS THE ONLY “BAD” SPOT I CAN FIND. ALL GLASS IS GOOD AND WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN AS THEY SHOULD. DOORS CLOSE TIGHT AND CRISP. ALUM INSERT AT GRAB HANDLE IS THE ONLY PIECE I KNOW OF THAT IS NOT ORIGINAL AS THE ORIGINAL CAME WITH THE CAR. I HAVE A FAIR AMOUNT OF RECEIPTS SOMEWHERE FROM THE OLDER RESTO INCLUDING KING PIN REPLACEMENT AND RELATED FRONT SUSPENSION ITEMS AND ENGINE REBUILD. I WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO LOCATE THEM. INTERIOR IS AS SHOWN WITH THE ONLY REAL ISSUE BEING THE GLOVE BAX LATCH MECHANISM IS NOT THERE AND THE SOFT TOP CLOSE OUT HAS LEFT SOME MARKS ON THE TOPS OF BOTH SEATS AS SHOWN. THEY ARE VISIBLE WITH DECK CLOSED BUT THEY ARE THERE. I HAVE NOT TRIED TO ADDRESS THEM AND WITH THE PROPER LEATHER CLEANER THEY MAY BE REMOVED. 16 INCH TORQUE THRUST ARE IN GREAT SHAPE AND THE 225/55/16 GOODYEAR EAGLES ARE WITH GOOD TREAD. AFTER MARKET STEREO FITS WELL / SOUNDS GOOD.
