Timeless color combo that gets complimented all the time. #3299 of the first Corvettes built at the Bowling Green, KY plant. Somewhat rare as one of only 5352 two tone Vettes built in 1981, with 4 different combinations available. Also has optional cruise control, P255/60R-15 tires, aluminum wheels, and power antenna. 55,XXX mile numbers matching car.
This was a nice car when I purchased it, but it did need a little TLC. The following items have been replaced: heater core, hvac vacuum actuators, heater control valve, thermostat, thermostat housing, hvac control head, lighter assembly, power window switches, center console plate, leather/vinyl seats, shifter ball, button and boot, floor mats, rear storage compartment frame, console side cover cardboard backing boards, battery, starter to frame ground cable, radiator hoses, heater hoses, engine belts, passenger side calipers and 4 new tires. The driver's power window motor, installation plate and bushing, as well as the spring were replaced. The car also received a tune up which included spark plug wires, spark plugs, ignition module, rotor and coil. New fuel pump, rubber feed and vapor return lines, carb to pump metal fuel line and fuel filter installed. All replaced hoses, plug wires and belts are GM reproductions. New rubber valve cover gaskets installed. Automatic power antenna repair kit installed. At some point an aftermarket AM/FM cassette replaced the original AM/FM 8 track radio. A/C has been converted to R134. Bottom of the car has been cleaned. I have receipts for the work and new parts installed. Paint has been freshened up and new hood decal installed.
According the the Corvette Buyers Guide https://www.corvsport.com/c3-corvette-buyers-guide/ a numbers matching C3 Corvette can be worth as much as 30% more than those that have been modified. In addition to the engine and transmission in this car, other numbers matching items include the alternator, carb, intake, water pump, distributor, starter, and power antenna. It has the original spare tire and jack, and amazingly, the original exhaust with date coded GM mufflers. Some of the undercarriage factory tags and markings can still be seen and read. I've done considerable degreasing to the bottom of the car which is very much original. I've left it in this condition so there is nothing hidden from a potential buyer.
Price is negotiable, but no low ballers please and no tire kickers Great car to get yourself a classic, very much numbers matching, C3 Corvette without breaking the bank. Clear title and clean Carfax in hand. Laminated copies of the build sheet and window sticker obtained from the Corvette Museum are pictured as well.
