Car Details

1988 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, automatic, power windows, air conditioning, Z52 performance / handling option. I have owned this Vette for more than 10 years and have decided that 6 cars is too many. I am sad to see it go. Over the time I have owned it, I have replaced or rebuilt (in order of replacement) ~ the transmission has been rebuilt with all heavy duty components ~ new top professionally done ~ 2/3 of the car repainted by the local Chevy dealer ~ new exhaust ~ Cooper high performance tires ~ full tune up with new plugs, etc. ~ new shocks with lowering kit and alignment ~ rebuilt dash and climate control ~ air conditioning upgrade ~ outer door seals ~ new seats and carpet ~ new wheels (PLEASE NOTE: there are a few pics with the original wheels that I no longer have) ~ receipts, paperwork, manuals, misc parts, dealer brochure ~ a custom cover. I have not replaced the inner door panels, which are original.

The car is a joy to drive, handles excellent, quick off the line, and will cruise all day at 75 mph at 2000 rpm.

Of course, this is a 34 year old car, so there are a few things that need attention. The gas gauge does not work - I use the odometer to track gas. The wipers may or may not work - I do not drive in the rain, so I never fixed them. The horn does not work. I'm sure there are others that I forgot or just live with.

I know it is a high mileage car so here are a few things regarding the mileage. I bought the car more than 10 years ago with somewhere around 140k on it - so I have driven it about a thousand miles per year since. One of the first things I did (after a total rebuild on the transmission and exhaust replacement) was to take it to Roberts Corvette in Kalamazoo and have the engine totally checked out (compression, gaskets, plugs, etc.) and had them do anything they thought needed attention. I have driven the car to St. Ignace (from Holland), Jackson, Michigan (NASCAR race), and stored it inside a garage in Harrison, Michigan. I have always driven the car like a Corvette needs to be driven and never had a problem. It has been maintained by a local shop or the Chevy dealer, and I have all the receipts. I can drive the car as long as I can sit in the diver's seat.

This car is sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. If you want the car shipped, I can probably arrange it. I could also pick you up at Ford Airport in Grand Rapids. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail.
