March 9, 2003
The driveshaft was removed by unbolting the u-bolts. The engine mounts, transmission cooler lines and the power steering were then disconnected. We then used an engine hoist to remove the engine and transmission together.
The engine and transmission removal is extremely easy when you have the body off! Not that we'd ever recommend removing the body to pull the engine, but at least it makes ONE thing about a frame-off easy. Be careful not to break or bend the distributor with the chain when you attach the engine to the hoist.
