We decided that it was too much of a pain to try to get 6-8 friends to come over and help us remove the body. In addition, we don't really have anywhere to store the body while we work on the frame. So, instead, we decided to use a hoist and a body sling (available through vettefinders for $75). We purchased a 2 ton chain hoist from Harbor Freight and about $60 in 2x6's and about $20 in heavy chain. We built a 12 foot high 6x6 structure that tied into the ceiling. It turned out it provided just enough clearance. We hoisted away and the body mounts broke free easily.

The body came off... The frame looked about the same on the top, rusty and pitted, but structurally sound. As you can see, the rear storage compartments are cracked considerably. That will take a little bit of fiberglass work.
